Teach someone what you learned

Why this matters

Teaching something is the fastest way to find out whether you truly understand it. Explaining it to another person locks the knowledge in for both of you.

What you need

Something you have learned and a willing person to teach.

These are everyday items. If you don’t have one, look for the closest alternative — the steps will tell you what to use instead.

How to do it

Follow these steps in order. Take your time. You’ve got this.

  1. Pick one thing you learned recently and plan how to explain it simply.

  2. Teach it to someone, using plain words and a real example.

  3. Answer their questions, and note any part you struggled to explain so you can revisit it.

Your one thing today

Teach one thing you learned recently to someone today.

Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Do this one thing now, even if it’s small.

Come back tomorrow

A new skill will be waiting for you tomorrow. Or if you’d like to keep learning today, explore the full library.
